So the music industry has gone wild for Queen B's new music video. But for me, what is more interesting is the familiar dance routines that I've seen practiced back home in Africa. I was shocked by the Daily Mail online's post, titled: 'Beyonce revamps the Riverdance in spectacular new Run the world (Girls) music video.' River dance??? Now I know most of y'all reading this know, but for those of you who don't...please get to know...
The two guys dancing with Beyonce in the beginning of the video are two of the three members of a Mozambican Kwaito dance group called TOFO TOFO:
According to Beyonce's choreographer, Frank Gaston. Jr, in an interview with MTV news, he stated that it took them two months to track down the dancers after seeing them dance on a Youtube video of them dancing at a Mozambican wedding. (Thank God for Youtube!)
At least she actually put TOFO TOFO in the video...she could have easily stolen the dance routine and called it her own! So for this reason Beyonce, I salute you!
Check out the original vid of TOFO TOFO doing their thaaaang! (Just had to post it twice lol)
I'm glad she put them in the video because you just can't imitate them! The track that they are dancing to is by South African Artist DJ Cleo, titled 'Nisho Njalo'.
Have a listen to the full track...this is my tuuungae!
Job well done Bee!
Eiiishhh SOUTHERN AFRICA STAND UP!
Love x
